MODERN FAKES
Anything that is fashionable is liable to be faked. This is now beginning to apply to Art Moderne, but most of the antique post cards price lists copies are of kitsch. The good pieces were of high quality and expensive when new, so are less easy to reproduce cheaply, but do not assume that, because a thing belongs to a time within living memory, it must necessarily be genuine.

Good examples much in demand both for books (especially in lawyers’ offices) and for collections of ceramics, so prices are high, even for cases too large for normal.
