GERMAN OAK CHEST - LOMBARD SMALL INTARSIA CHEST - INLAID TEAK CABINET ON STAND - FLEMISH WALNUT ARMCHAIR - DUTCH WALNUT AND MARQUETRY BUREAU CABINET
A GERMAN OAK CHEST with a moulded top and dentil frieze above a pair of doors set with arcades and pilasters inlaid with walnut and applied with arabesque decoration, on a solid plinth base, the panelled sides with iron carrying handles, 2ft. high by 6ft. lin. wide (67cm. by 200cm.) late 16th Century, possibly Nuremberg.
A GOOD PORTUGUESE CHEST ON STAND, the upper part with an arrangement of twelve drawers set to resemble sixteen short drawers with elaborately panelled fronts and brass lockplates, the sides similarly panelled, the stand with an elaborately carved pierced apron centred by a cartouche and supported on bulbous ring and spirally turned legs joined by spiral stretchers and ending in pad feet, 5ft. 5in. high by 3ft. WVzin. wide (162cm. by 118cm.)Iatel7th Century.

A SPANISH LOW TABLE, the top veneered in rosewood with panels of tortoiseshell and bands of scrollwork in light wood, raised on turned beechwood legs with arched iron stretchers, lft. llin. high by 2ft. 8in. long (58cm. by 82cm.) the top originally from a 17th Century cabinet.
AN OAK COFFER with three-plank top, the front carved with a frieze of roundels, on trestle feet, 2ft. high by 5ft. llViin. wide {77cm. by 182cm.) late 16th Century, probably German.
A LOMBARD SMALL INTARSIA CHEST in walnut, the exterior and interior of the hinged lid elaborately inlaid with delicate geometrie designs in bone, with a small shield below the keyhole, on bracket feet, llin. high by 2ft. in. wide (28cm. by 65cm.) 16th/17th Century.
A HENRY IV WALNUT BUFFET, the upper part with a pair of panelled doors divided and flanked by arched recesses and with two pairs of reeded Ionic columns above a pair of cushion frieze drawers, the lower part with a slide and supported on a pair of reeded columns, the panelled backboard with reeded pilasters, 4ft. 7in. high by 5ft. 5in. wide (140cm. by 165cm.) late 16th Century, lower part reconstructed.
A FLEMISH WALNUT SIDE CHAIR, the rectangular needlework-covered back and seat on turned legs joined at the square section by turned stretchers, circa 1690, restored
cupboard doors divided and flanked by three gilt-metal caryatids enclosing two banks of five small drawers flanking a mirror-lined interior applied with gilt-metal, the panelled sides inlaid with tortoiseshell with ebony strapwork picked out in ivory, 2ft. 4lMn. high by 4ft. 2in. wide (72cm. by 127cm.) circa 1670, on a later English mahogany stand with cabriole legs.
A SPANISH WALNUT ARMCHAIR, the tall padded back with gilt shell finials, the arms and stuffed seat on turned supports, late 17th Century, legs partly replaced.
A GOANESE INLAID TEAK CABINET ON STAND inlaid throughout with a foliate design in ebony picked out in ivory with brass pins, the front with an arrangement of eight small and two deep and two long drawers with ivory handles, the stand with a pair of drawers and raised on square legs inlaid with diamonds, with pierced shaped feet, 4ft. Viin. high by 2ft. 9in. wide (124cm. by 84cm.) late 17th Century, with 19th Century English locks.
A BATAVIAN CARVED EBONY LOW CHAIR, the back with shaped toprail carved with dense scrolling foliage above seven spirally turned rails, the stuffed seat with similarly carved seatrail, with spirally turned legs and stretchers, late 17th Century.
A FINE GERMAN OAK CABINET, the breakfront moulded cornice above a pair of moulded and glazed doors divided by elongated moulded panels, the base with three rectangular cupboards with applied geometrie mouldings and divided by elongated rectangular moulded panels, on scrolled feet, 7ft. 3in. high by 6ft. l3Ain. wide (221cm. by 187cm.) circa 1685, the cornice carved with an inscription and the date Anno 1722, left-hand top cornice moulding replaced.
A SPANISH FRUITWOOD CABINET, the inverted breakfront moulded cornice with dentil carved decoration above a pair of doors each with seven small moulded panels, divided from the base by a pair of carved and moulded drawers above a similar pair of panelled doors, on shaped feet, the sides similarly moulded, 6ft. lin. high by 4ft. 5in. wide (185cm. by 135cm.) 17th Century, later cornice, extensively restored.
A FLEMISH WALNUT ARMCHAIR with tall stuffed back, moulded scrolling arms with S-scroll supports, the stuffed seat with similar legs and H-stretchers, late 17th Century, seatrail and bars of underframe replaced in beech.
A FLEMISH OAK CABINET, the moulded comice above a frieze carved with foliage and C-scrolls and centred by two cherubs supporting a basket of flowers, above a pair of cupboard doors both with two fielded ebonised panels and flanked by fluted and stop-fluted pilaster strips, with panelled sides, on later bun feet, 6ft. 6in. high by 5ft. 8in. wide by 2ft. oVzin. deep (192cm. by 173cm. by 75cm.) mid-17th Century.
A FLEMISH SMALL BRASS CHANDELIER, the stem with a large sphere and a ring at the top and the base and supporting six S-scroll arms with reel nozzles and saucer-shaped drip-pans, Ift. 6in. high by lft. 7in. diameter (46cm. by 48cm.).
A DUTCH OAK DRAW-LEAF TABLE with a hinged compartment in the frieze, on bulbous cup and cover legs joined by stretchers, 2ft. 6in. high by 3ft. lO’Mn. wide (77cm. by 118cm.) circa 1700.
A DUTCH PAINTED BOX with hinged lid, one side rising to reveal a concealed
drawer, the exterior painted with flowers and leaves mainly in red, white and green on a
black ground within moulded walnut borders, Gin. high by 14in. wide (15cm. bv 35 5cm )

A SMALL PARQUETRY TABLE CABINET with arched moulded comice and a central bowed door surrounded by twelve drawers, with projecting corbels at the sides, 19in high by 19in. wide (49.5cm. by 48cm.) circa 1740, South German or Austrian.
A DUTCH WALNUT AND MARQUETRY BUREAU CABINET, the arched upper part with moulded cornice and with a carved porcelain stand and the pair of panelled doors enclosing adjustable shelves and drawers and with a pair of candle-slides below, the lower part in two parts and with a flap enclosing a fitted interior and with three drawers in the ogee front, with canted corners and claw and ball feet, 7ft. 8in. high by 4ft. 4in. wide (234cm. by 132cm.) mid-18th Century, inlay and upper part 19th Century.
A FINE REGENCE PROVINCIAL WALNUT ARMOIRE, with a moulded cornice above a pair of panelled doors set with roundels and carved with rosettes and acanthus leaves, the central panels carved with a Maltese cross, on a moulded plinth base and bun feet, the sides carved with giant lozenge panels and leaf-carved roundels, 7ft. high by 5ft. wide (240cm. by 79cm.) circa 1720.
